MELANGE

Unity in Diversity

 

The Faculty of Computer Science & Applications organized a cultural event “Melange” on 22nd August 2015 under Pratibha Club. Melange means varied mixture thus this Fashion show competition was aimed to represent unity in diversity in our country. Many students of Computer Science & Applications participated in the event and came up with their own creative means in terms of costume by representing various cultures ranging from North to South, East to West. In the Talent round students amazed the audience with their spectacular singing, dancing and musical performances. The competition was judged by Dr. M K Sharma and Mr. Ashish Khare. The winner was Ms. Bhawana Rana, she rocked the floor with her phenomenal dance performance. The first runner up was Mr. Chetan Joshi and the second runner up was Ms. Priyanshi. Many other students were admired for their performance and were given consolation prizes. The Director Prof (Dr.) M K Pandey congratulated the winners and praised the active participation of all students. The event coordinator Ms. Jagjit Kaur expressed her heartfelt thanks and appreciated the team members i.e. Ms. Sneha Bhaurya, Ms. Poonam Mahatolia and Mr. Ravinder Khetwal for their coordination and support.

                      Master of Computer Applications

A Career after Under graduate degree if one has maths as a subject:
Master of Computer Applications (MCA)is a three-year (six semesters) professional Master's D...egree in computer science awarded in India. The course was designed to meet the growing demand for qualified professionals in the field of Information Technology. It is a postgraduate course that can be taken up after obtaining a Bachelor's Degree. The MCA programme is inclined more toward Application Development and thus has more emphasis on latest programming language and tools to develop better and faster applications.
The MCA program focuses on providing a sound theoretical background as well as good practical exposure to students in the relevant areas. It is intended to provide a modern, industry-oriented education in applied computer science. It aims at producing trained professionals who can successfully meet the demands of the information technology industry.
Typically,an MCA is a full-time degree course with a duration of three years (six semesters). It covers various aspects of computational theory,programming, algorithm design and optimization, network and database management, mobile technologies, electronics, mathematics, probability,statistics, accounting, finance, etc. Some institutes provide a six years (eleven semesters and six months On Job Training) integrated MCA

A workshop on "Personality and Motivation"  was  conducted by Ms. Jagjit Kaur and Ms. Elba Mandrelle on 25th April and 27th April for students of Computer Science and Applications. In this workshop students learnt about various aspects of human personality which motivated them and groomed their personality. All the students participated with enthusiasm and gave positive feedback suggesting more such workshops

WORKSHOP ON MVC BASED RESPONSIVE WEB
Amrapali Group of Institutes firmly believes that in today’s scenario practical exposure plays a vital role along with conceptual knowledge in the overall development of students. Keeping this view in mind a workshop was conducted by Faculty of Computer Science and Applications for BCA final year students. The objective of the workshop is to increase the awareness about MVC architecture and their implementation for Responsive Web using framework like CodeIgniter and BootStrap. The software industry nowadays  requires the experts in these architecture, technology and frameworks.     
Around 145 students from Amrapali Institute and from nearby colleges like: SIMT college, kashipur, IMT college, Kashipur, Apex institute, Rudrapur, Surajmal College, Kiccha, Graphic Era Hill University, Bhimtal, SSJ Campus, Almora, Jai Arihant college, Halduchaur and Pal college, Haldwani participated in the workshop.
The technical session was commenced by Astt: Professor Naveen Tewari, his session was focused on the Bootstrap loader which is used for responsive web development. The next session by Astt: Professor Nitin Deepak was focused on MVC and Code Igniter which is used for developing fast and secure web applications. After that a session on Mysql via PHP MyAdmin was conducted by Astt: Professor Mukesh Joshi which is used for developing Mysql-I database for smart devices. At last there was motivational session by
